Raspbian Net-install

So i continued the progress of my old raspbian net installer for the raspberry pi A to Zero W!

It seems, we can not get it running an old version of raspbian (wheezy) however this really isn't an issue right because it's old. 🙏

With the next version  (Stretch) now officially out, I think my main target would be getting stretch supported.

I think it's time to get to work and make it happen! Oh yeah I've just purchased www.craigory.win what will replace craigory.eu.org in the next 7days

I'm out for now...... I'll be back for a rant when I'm pissed off later 🎉

Nearly a year without a blog.........

Wow it's really been nearly a year since I've blogged, but so much to talk about just not enough time to write a blog.
Moving on swiftly, I've started two projects which of course will be taking my spare time up (very little I get) starting things off....
Web hosting:
It's been a long time, I missed doing it and enjoyed it! I've give up smoking to start a small website. So if you need cheap hosting head over to www.hursthosting.com

Fiesta Mark 4:
So I've purchased a mark 4 fiesta that requires a bit of work for it's MOT. Well 2 minor things really which I've already made a start on

Gotta lot of body work to do, that nasty thing called rust that needs to be stamped out before it takes over! It'll be a very long project but it'll be worth it. Car was registered in 1998 and has done 55k miles!

Anyhow today's mission, is blood tests followed by restoring the washer bottle and motor in the car as I've already stripped it out yesterday.

Peace out
x

Summer is over

So British summer is pretty much over, we've had some pretty warm days 34 degrees Celsius.

I've taken a short vacation to my mothers for 7days as my niece is being christened on Sunday. Was a perfect opportunity to fix the broken server here and upgrade it to Ubuntu. It's been broken for a long time now and moved everything to another server however I thought I'd install Ubuntu and xen again. It took me about 4 attempts and having to reinstall every time it's now online and hosting a very small vps (96mb ram, 10gb hdd running netbsd)

I'll be enjoying this wet weather today with my boys and future wife! Looking forward to going home Monday to be honest

I'll blog again soon in my busy life

revolut.com Review

So i've been internet shopping for a pre-paid mastercard that isn't a bitch on fee's and found a app called Revolut. I done the normal sign up etc etc and all went smoothly, even topped up £10 and spent £6 in local shop all went well i was generally happy with the app/fee's and suggested to my family about getting it. Biggest mistake i've made

Last night i helped my mum setup account and it didn't really work, pins to setup the account wasn't accepted and it was generally a fucked up messed so gave up.

Went to spend $1.18 on my account and was declined when i had £2.20 in my account, i was confused so went to login and it asked me to verify my card? I followed instructions and guess what........ my bank statement didn't have any reference of a 4 number code.  Support was offline so left it till today and i've given them all the information and now they need to investigate it further? I'm now worried as they've suspended my account and also have my credit card details on there system, I've requested they close my account to no response as such!

I'd be too kind to give them a rating of 2/10, lack of support and the fact they can suspend me over an unknown reason (They won't tell me why)
, anyhow it's 12:59pm and the last thing they said was passing me over to someone else

I'll keep you guys updated

Update:  2pm no reply from support via app, so contacted them via Facebook. They don't seem to fussed about it

Voting Day

Today is the day England/Wales/Scotland  vote to see if we leave the EU. I've already made my mind up about voting and decided voting for neither of them.

Obviously the UK is a fucked country already full of polish that are claiming child benefit for children back in Poland. Our goverment have fucked our country and voting to leave the EU will not put our country back in a hurry.

I'm happy to say the outcome will not bother me, nor will it effect my life!

Not much

Well thought I'd may as well blog whilst I have the time. I've been kept rather busy past few weeks I don't have time to fart let alone blog.

Well our move was cancelled  (we pulled out) as the landlord seemed to not what to agree on something so thought fuck him. So we are staying where we are with some luxury stuff.

We swapped our Internet from sky to plusnet and got a year free (adsl) after some shocking speeds I decided to call them and they offered us fibre for £16.99 a month for 18months.  We are due to go live on the 29th of this month and expect speeds of 70-80mb! Happy days

I've also been breaking things I think, my raspberry pi and pico ups decided to muck up. The raspberry pi 2 would power up however ethernet wouldn't operate and the cpu would get really hot. After a quick search I found a replacement pi2 on ebay for £22 so grabbed it. The pico ups still powers up however I'm reluctant to install it on my replacement pi2 just in case it's that which fried my pi. I've purchased a replacement pico ups from the manufacturer and after a 5days wait they finally processed my order. I then emailed to enquire about tracking and got a reply sorry we didn't send tracked and we'll send again today tracked? So I've got 2 of them on the way.

Anyhow, I'm off to sleep if you get bored visit www.letstalkcoding.xyz and register then come say hello to us in chat!

A lot has happened.....

So since my last post, a fair amount has changed and I've kinda forgotten to push my commits to github. I visited my parents and picked up my raspberrypi model B to control my remote sockets. I had previously modified my case and added a cpu fan to keep it cool, however this was not needed anymore. I decided to order a new case from modmypi.com for something silly like  £5 which happened to got lost by postman? Found a new place to order a case for just £1 and with p&p it was around £3.

They case has arrived, only thing that's annoying is the network leds! After a little research i Found you needed to patch the module in kernel and compile. This now allows you to control network leds without installing anything other than the custom kernel. It's the latest kernel and will be pushed to github and links will be added on this post this evening. THIS WILL ONLY WORK WITH MODEL A/B (NOT  B+ OR 2B)

I Will not take responsibility if you attempt to install on b+ or 2b. I'm running this kernel and it's stable at present
